Think about those family-oriented films that come out every year. It’s always huge during summer or Christmas. Either a big family goes to some lake for a vacation and it ends up being infested with zombies, ghosts, or just some crazed psychos or a huge family goes to some vacation to some resort and it turns out to be one of the worst ideas in the world. So many comedies or horror films are based on vacations! Why is that? Because lets face it… Vacations.. most of the time suck! Yes dad, they have their potential to be great, but seldom do. Here are some of the ways every vacation can go south.
Weather, much like my sister’s boyfriends are always out of my control (most of the time are lame too). Technology might be great but it can’t really call everything. We even saw recently with the tornado in Moore, Oklahoma that most of those families either had no idea what was happening or simply did not have the right coverage. Even though most of the resources available online, claim to warn you before things happen, weather in general is such a strange aspect of earth that we actually have not figured out completely.
2. Bad Planning
I don’t care what you say. Most people simply do not like planning. Even if you say you do, there are definite aspects of planning that sucks. Guess what? Most of the planning that goes along with vacations suck. All that time off that you have to try and hustle with your job. If you are driving, you have to ask for 2 extra days off plus the vacation time for the traveling time. So not properly taking all of this into account when you are planning it all, can really send it all to hell.
When it comes to leaving the house, security should always be a top priority. Pickpocketing is not only something that happens overseas but in the U.S. as well. Some people say that it’s dated and that it might not happen anymore, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. You always want to make sure you are wearing tight clothing (sorry Dad) and nothing baggy because its harder to tell when its about to happen or happening. Something that is often forgotten about is keeping not only yourself safe but your lonely home you left behind. I’m talking home security monitoring. It might not be the first thing that crossed your mind, but it should be a big priority. Lets just say you forget to arm your home and you realize you forgot half way across the country. No need to call someone to do it for you. Just simply do it from your phone. There are so many companies that charge a fortune for these kind of services, but I found one locally that does it for prices that no one else can beat.
